On Tuesday, February 26, at around 22:30 p.m., a police patrol conducting a routine check in the Cape Bay area saw three strangers with questionable behavior in front of a bar.
One of the men started to behave quite suspiciously when he realized the patrol was in the area. This man became more and more suspicious and grabbed an object hidden under his shirt at the waist. The investigators decided to carry out a check on the person.
Upon further investigation, police found a loaded handgun and several small plastic bags each containing a small amount of marijuana and cocaine. The gun and the drugs were confiscated for further investigation.
The suspect was arrested on the spot, then taken to Philipsburg police headquarters where he was placed in pre-trial detention pending the results of the investigation.
