The importance of a public library in the community is the theme of the forum scheduled for Thursday, February 7 at 19:30 p.m. at the Concordia Chamber of Commerce.

This informative and educational public forum will highlight the essential role of libraries in the reconstruction process.

The three speakers who will discuss this topic will be Dr. Rhoda Arindell, linguist, author and educator; Jocelyn Arnell, author and educator and Danielle Chance-Glasgow, librarian and educator. The moderator of the exchanges between the participants will be Frantz Gumbs, educator and former president of the Community.

“Hurricane Irma devastated the island's libraries, leaving Saint-Martin with a lack of public libraries since September 2017.” said educator Lenny Mussington. He also highlighted the serious concerns about the various students who are preparing for their exams and have no place to study or carry out their research. "

“For the educational future of our children, we must do something to remedy these shortcomings. This puts our students in a very unfavorable position to pass their exams. "Concluded Lenny Mussington.
