The correctional court of Saint-Martin judge Friday morning in immediate appearance a 38 year old man for acts of violence with weapon, detention without authorization of weapon and use of cannabis. The victim of the violence was her sister.

The facts date back to November 5. While her sister is in the family home, she is taken to task by her brother. The tone rises between the two and the brother pulls out a handgun which he points at his sister's chest. The victim thus described the facts the next day to the gendarmes with whom she filed a complaint.

As part of the investigation, a loaded 38-caliber weapon and five munitions were found at the home of the accused, who lives in Spring-Concordia with the mother of her two children and her three children. 72 grams of cannabis and ten small sachets containing one gram each of cannabis will also be seized.

After having deliberated for almost an hour, the court imposed a sentence of two years in prison, suspended for one year and tested for two years, including the obligation of care, the prohibition to detain a weapon subject to authorization for fifteen years. It also issued a deposit warrant. Joseph will be transferred at the end of the afternoon to prison in Guadeloupe. (More details on www.soualigapost.com)
