EVENT – NAUTISM: The great return of the Fête de la Mer this weekend

0

On Saturday June 11 and Sunday June 12 from 10 a.m. to 17 p.m., the Fête de la Mer is back in force on Grand-Case beach. This eleventh edition, organized by Métimer with the collaboration of the Saint Martin Tourist Office, promises to be festive, sporty and successful.

It took two years for the Fête de la Mer, formerly known as the Fête du Nautisme, to once again entertain young and old alike. Born six years ago and initially set up in Marigot, this festival giving pride of place to water sports will set the mood in Grand-Case this weekend and will be dedicated to the memory of Jean-Claude van Rymenant, great chef of the SNSM, who left us last January. Many activities await the public. To take part, you must first go to the information stand, located at the level of the old “Frite au Vent”, and to the ticket office in order to register for the activities on offer. The pontoon in front of the lolos will be the start of the motorized activities: jet-skis (with a higher number compared to previous editions given the success), towed buoy, wake foil, catamaran rides, speed boat, donut boat and small boats. To the left of the pontoon will be concentrated the non-motorized activities with kayak, paddle, hobby cat, diam 24 and open bic. For the little ones who want to return to land, a bouncy castle will be at their disposal as well as the essential duck fishing. Affordable prices vary according to the desired activity, from 3 to 15€. The Fête de la Mer would not be what it is without the presence of music which will be provided by DJ Erwan and participants will also be entertained with Tahitian dance performances. The program for these two days is available in detail on Métimer's Facebook page. Important point for boaters, mooring and navigation will be prohibited in the bay of Grand-Case, and this, for the duration of the festivities. The SNSM will provide surveillance.

Happy Sea Day to all! _VX
