Roof repairs to Juliana Airport are expected to be completed this May. According to the official report of project manager Rob Noorman, the second phase of the installation of the Riverclack metal roof is almost complete.

The third phase of repair consists of the installation of roundings and soffits all around the roof and should be finished at the end of May. The first phase has been finalized since July 2018, and consisted in removing the remains of the old roof, some repairs and the installation of a waterproof layer. The Dutch company Ballast Nedam won the roof repair market, which started in March 2018. Thirty employees work on it, including fifteen recruited locally. The 17 m000 roof was severely damaged by hurricanes Irma, José and Maria in September 2. This made the terminal unusable until July 2017. From August to December 2018, temporary work were realized. On December 2018, 14, the ground floor of the terminal was opened.
