The black series continues! A head-on collision of rare violence occurred last Monday, May 5, around 23:30 p.m., in Cole Bay between a two-wheeler and a vehicle. The human toll was heavy with the death of the scooter driver and the passenger, seriously injured in the body and head.
According to the first elements of the investigation, the biker was traveling at very high speed in the left lane, opposite Lookout Point, on the AJC Brouwers road from Cole Bay. It was there that he collided head-on with the oncoming vehicle.
When the emergency services arrived, the driver of the scooter was lying on the ground and showed no signs of life.
The passenger, suffering from a severe head trauma and a broken leg, was immediately taken care of by the medical team on site before being transferred to the Sint-Maarten Medical Center.
An investigation to determine the exact causes of this new road tragedy is still ongoing. _AF
