The Centr'Hôtel in Marigot has 2 stars, the establishments Esmeralda, La Plantation, Orient Beach, Palm Court in Orient Bay are classified 4 stars as well as the Grand Case Beach Club or the Balcons d'Oyster Pond. La Samanna in Baie Longue is the only 5-star establishment.
This classification is valid for a period of five years. It is specific to the Collectivity of Saint-Martin. Having tourism skills, she had to set it up and define its criteria. For this, it based itself on the national specifications which it adapted; certain criteria thus differ from those in mainland France (air conditioning/heating, etc.).
Appearing in the tourism code of Saint-Martin, the criteria are classified into three chapters: equipment, customer service and accessibility/sustainable development. They are 127 in number but not all of them are compulsory depending on the number of stars.
