Florence Poirier-Nkpa will present a series of self-portraits this evening in the hall of the Cliff in Cupecoy, from 18 p.m. to 20 p.m. This event, open to the public, is organized by NoCo Art Studio. The opportunity to (re) discover his artistic work which is part of a desire to open up the notion of self-portrait to the idea of an avatar. The artist explains on her site that she works on the textures of faces already pixelated by the screen with her phone. “I then mix them with each other using software. Then I deconstruct the figure again… to then print it on various supports, which I cut and glue back into superimposed fragments. ” Last month, the artist presented his work at Axum Café in Philipsburg. _EH
