SURF: A great popular success! Hurley Kids Fire 2016

Announced as the Surf & Skate event of the year in Saint-Martin, the Hurley Kids Fire 2016 gathered last weekend at the Windy Reef Center more than a hundred competitors.

These are the youngest surfers in the competition, the 8/12 year olds who launched the first series in waves from 80 cm to 1 m of absolute quality and perfection.

Some, having only a few months of surfing, were more than surprising, literally surpassing themselves both physically and mentally. Motivated, boosted by the competition, the young budding surfers offered the audience on board the boats a magnificent show of courage and commitment.

The girls, numbering 18 registered, also took the plunge. The youngest, only 8 years old, really won over the entire organizing staff and the public. Many girls have joined forces with the club this year to take advantage of the training courses set up by the Galion structure. The Maud Lecar and Camille Lavocat effect, SXM Watergirls Power seems to have an impact on the younger generation.

Ramp up in the early afternoon on the Galion Reef spot with the launch of the 12/14 year old boys series. A category which takes part in all the competitions of the regional hope circuit and for some already on the championships of France. Very motivated to produce a radical and committed surf, Mathis Azam and Noa Tasso quickly took the advantage over the competition with very beautiful maneuvers carried out like some Air 360 ° revers and other very back cut carvings!

Two Surf Open series were able to get into the water at the end of the afternoon. As usual, Thomas Doumenjou and Tom Houilliez set the spot on fire for 20 minutes by producing a radical and aerial surf.

The organizers had indeed planned to continue the open competitions on Sunday morning. But for lack of consistent waves, this open competition had to be postponed to Saturday April 23.

A free contest demonstration of Skate ramp, followed by the award ceremony came to close this beautiful day to the delight of the 120 people present on the site._AF
