The two individuals are suspected of having participated in the shipment of 20 kg of cocaine to Canada.

Two men working at Menzies Aviation, a company specializing in airport layover assistance and established in Sint Maarten since 2001, were arrested on Wednesday by the Alpha Team unit of the Sint Maarten police, the latter said in a press release Press.

The two individuals, ESCC C and OFS, are suspected of having shipped narcotics from Juliana airport to Canada. "A large quantity of drugs was seized in Canada earlier this year on board a flight from Sint Maarten," police said. Indeed, Canadian customs seized 20 kg of cocaine at Toronto International Airport. “On January 11, Border Services Officers from CBSA Commercial Operations searched an aircraft arriving from St Maarten. After a thorough inspection, officers discovered a sports bag containing fifteen brick-shaped objects which turned out to be cocaine.

In Sint Maarten, searches took place in several houses as well as within the company in parallel with the two arrests. LThe investigation is continuing, police said. _AF
