• August 18: 19''78. The weather is almost modest for him. Besides, he is greeted by a somewhat sulky pout. But no matter: Usain Bolt keeps his crown for 200 meters and approaches nirvana.
• 19 August And 9! Like Paavo Nurmi and Carl Lewis. Jamaica wins the 4x100m and Usain Bolt scores his third Olympic 100 - 200 - 4 × 100 treble in a row. Lightning Bolt must work but ends the job as the lord that he is.
• December 2: Usain Bolt is named IAAF Athlete of the Year. It is the sixth time in his career. "Winning a sixth year means as much to me as the first time," he says.
