In view of the partly French health context, the prefect decided to institute a curfew from midnight Friday until 5 a.m. for a month.
"All establishments will have to be closed and their staff returned to their homes," said Serge Gouteyron. For a month any travel after midnight will be prohibited in the French part. "If the government of Sint Maarten brings the closure of establishments to 23 pm, I will line up," he said.
All restaurants and bars, regardless of their capacity, must ask their customers for the health pass at the entrance; the measure distinguishing establishments according to their capacity is suspended.
Dance floors and nightclubs must also be closed. The sale of take-out alcohol after 18 p.m. is again prohibited. The gendarmes will carry out checks.
These new measures are taken by prefectural decree for a period of one month.
