On Monday, November 13, the president, Daniel Gibbs received in community, the president of the French Red Cross, Professor Jean-Jacques Eledjam, who chairs the first Association of France since 2013.

During a field visit to Saint-Martin, Jean-Jacques Eledjam came to realize the damage caused by Irma and the dramatic consequences of the hurricane on the poorest. Accompanied by members of his cabinet and Joceline Bretchel, president of the territorial delegation of the Red Cross, the professor was able to go to the heart of the disaster areas and see for himself the emergency situations.

President Gibbs expressed his thanks to the local Red Cross delegation and to President Eledjam, noting that the Red Cross has played a crucial role alongside the community in the management of relief and care many people in an absolute emergency.

Professor Eledjam for his part reassured the president of the community on his intention to deploy significant means on Saint Martin to continue humanitarian aid from the Red Cross and allow the territorial delegation, hitherto housed by the community route du Fort Louis, to find new premises, the community building having been entirely damaged.

It is therefore on the assurance of a solid and lasting partnership that the two men welcomed each other, the Red Cross informing President Gibbs of its wish to accompany the community over the long term, with the next step being the organization of a beautiful Christmas tree with many gifts for little Saint-Martin.
