Since last Tuesday, an unlimited strike movement began within La Poste in Guadeloupe, including Saint-Martin. It was unanimously decided by the staff at a general meeting on December 14th.
The organizations CFTC Poste, FOCOM, CGTG PTT and Sud PTT Gwa, have formed inter-union organizations, they said in a press release.
The agents denounce "the health and social situation as well as the deterioration of the working conditions of the postal workers". Among the demands: respect for the dignity of staff and their representatives, the stopping of reorganizations not taking into account the specificities of the department, communities, the opening of negotiations on projects and restructuring, giving priority to positions of responsibility for Aboriginal executives, cessation of all pressures at all levels of the hierarchy, cessation of acting recruitment, maintenance of offices in office, etc.
The Marigot, Grand Case and Howell Center offices are open.
