0

On Saturday afternoon, September 17, a woman lost control of her dirt bike while performing stunts in Middle Region, Sint Maarten. She escaped with three broken bones.

The Sint Maarten police telephone switchboard was alerted to a traffic accident that occurred near Margaret Bruce Drive on Middle Region Road this Saturday September 17 at 15 p.m. Police patrols and emergency services were dispatched to the scene. Based on the preliminary investigation, the biker was injured while performing urban rodeo on the Middle Region road, then flooded during the passage of tropical storm Fiona. The driver lost control of her motocross to crash into an oncoming truck. Witnesses to the accident moved the victim and the two-wheeler, which complicated the thorough investigation of the traffic services.

When help arrived, the biker complained of pain in her arms and legs. Emergency first aid was administered to him by paramedics who transported the victim to the Sint Maarten medical center. This counts three invoices due to the accident: left wrist, left knee and hip. This incident could have been one more drama on the list of serious or fatal accidents caused by urban rodeo. Irresponsible and reckless behavior continues to occur on the roads of Saint-Martin, endangering the lives of all road users, motorists, two-wheelers and pedestrians. The police forces of Sint Maarten will therefore carry out extensive checks on scooters and motorcycles to reduce the number of drivers who do not respect the highway code, non-compliance which endangers the lives of the Saint-Martin population. _VX
