Trait d'Union organized its first citizenship course

The small courtroom of the Saint-Martin court looked like a classroom on Thursday April 13 between 10:30 am and 12:30 pm. Distributed on the few wooden benches, two women and three men summoned for acts of violence (sometimes conjugal) inaugurated the first citizenship training course in Saint Martin organized by the association Trait d'Union. It is an alternative sentence for educational purposes, intended to encourage the accused to reflect on their behavior, such as the difference between justice and revenge. Jean-Marie Thévenet, delegate of the prosecutor and president of the association Trait d'Union, hosted this morning with his counterpart Serge Genovese. Assisted by lawyer Marc Vayrac, they explained how French justice works, while encouraging trainees to participate. A way to show them what they have escaped and what awaits them if they continue.
