An attempted murder took place last Tuesday evening, August 27, on Milton Drive in Dutch Quarter. Sint Maarten police detectives are in charge of this case.
According to the first elements collected by the investigators, the victim, identified with the initials WM, received shots from an unidentified assailant, who arrived at the scene of the shooting accompanied by another person behind the wheel of a car whose brand has not been determined. After the shooting, the two individuals fled in an unknown direction. The victim was immediately transported to Sint Maarten Medical Center by his wife. The man was admitted in critical condition and underwent surgery, but faced with the severity of the injuries, he was transferred to a hospital abroad.
The reason for the shooting and the identity of the attackers are not yet known to the investigators.
