SINT MAARTEN: New boarding bridges installed at Juliana airport

0

Princess Juliana International Airport has recently begun the installation of four new jet bridges.

The installation of the first two footbridges has been completed, with the other two to be installed before the end of April.
The new jetways will be able to accommodate a wide range of aircraft.
Before installing the new boarding bridges, the old ones had to be removed, which was done by MOTI Constructions NV. The work on the boarding bridges is being carried out in close collaboration with the operations and security teams to ensure a smooth replacement without disrupting the daily operations of the airport.
"This is another important step in the construction of the airport," said Mirto Breell, PMU project manager at Juliana airport. After the successful renovation of the facade, it is now the turn of the new passenger boarding bridges to be installed, which are equipped with the latest technology. Initially, the gangways will only be used for departing passengers. They will also be available for arriving passengers during 2024. _AF
