“I learned with great sadness of the death of Mr. Louis Langel during a handling operation on board a barge anchored in the port of Galisbay on Saturday evening. Employed by the SDL company, Louis was a pillar of the company, a professional known and appreciated by all.
He was also very involved in associations, especially softball, and as such was very popular in the sports world.
This fatal accident left his loved ones in mourning and shocked the whole community, especially the Dominican community.
I would like to express my most sincere condolences to his family, his friends, as well as to the manager of the SDL company and his employees.
The chairman of the board of directors of the port of Galisbay, my elected colleague Arnel Daniel, the director of Port Alberic Ellis and his staff, as well as the elected representatives of the territorial council of Saint-Martin join me in expressing our heartfelt condolences and our unwavering support to the family as they face this painful ordeal.
