Marijuana, cocaine, cash, counterfeit luxury items, within days, Sint Maarten customs officers  made some great catches at Juliana airport.

It all starts on Monday, June 12, 2023. The sleuths inspect cargo from Anguilla. On the screen of the x-ray equipment, the agents notice an image that prompts them to continue their investigation. Upon physical inspection of the package, they find $15 hidden in it. The final destination of the package was the United States. The money was confiscated.

Two days later, during an inspection of the contents of a 40-foot container, customs spotted items from several high-end brands, including Louis Vuitton, Nike and others. Customs suspects these items to be counterfeits and informs the relevant authorities. The goods are destroyed.

On Friday, June 16, customs officers operating at Juliana's cargo facility inspect a shipment from Miami. Through the use of modern cargo inspection equipment, Customs finds 10,208 kg of marijuana. The contraband merchandise was concealed among other items in a box. No arrests have been made at this time, the investigation is continuing.

Finally, on Saturday June 17, customs officers operating in the arrivals hall of Juliana airport check the incoming flight of Caribbean Airlines from Jamaica. While passing the passengers' luggage through X-rays, customs noticed an abnormal image on the screen and discovered four metal objects filled with pure cocaine for a total of 1,631 kg.

A 30-year-old suspect, of Nigerian origin, holder of Saint Kitts and Nevis nationality and passport, was arrested and taken into custody. _AF
