A traffic accident involving a pedestrian, a motorcycle and a car took place last Tuesday at the intersection of Walter J. Nisbeth Road and N. Debrot Street. The clash, which occurred around 7 a.m., left two people injured.
According to information gathered by the police, a car had stopped to allow a pedestrian to cross the street, while at the same time the pilot of a motorcycle passed the vehicle. The motorcycle struck the pedestrian, who sustained injuries to the abdomen and head. After the collision with the pedestrian, the biker lost control of his machine and struck the vehicle which had stopped to give way to the pedestrian. The motorcycle rider suffered a few bodily injuries. The two injured received first aid on site by paramedics, who then transported them to the Sint Maarten Medical Center for more appropriate care.
