Simplification of public procurement procedures

A decree published in the Official Journal temporarily raises the procedural exemption threshold for public works and food supply contracts.

In order to revive our economy and fight against food waste, Bruno Le Maire, Minister of the Economy, Finance and Recovery, Sébastien Lecornu Minister of Overseas, Julien Denormandie, Minister of Agriculture and of Food, Agnès Pannier-Runacher, Minister for Industry, and Alain Griset, Minister for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, signed a decree aimed at temporarily facilitating the conclusion of public contracts in two priority economic sectors. To support construction companies, hard hit by the health crisis, the decree raises, for one year, to € 70 excluding tax the threshold for exemption from the procedure for the award of public works contracts. This decree will allow buyers to contract directly, and therefore quickly, with companies, and thus accelerate the economic recovery in this sector which mobilizes a large workforce. With the aim of combating food waste, the decree also facilitates, for five months, the purchase, up to 000 €, of food produced, processed and stored during the state of health emergency and which will be delivered. before December 100, 000.
