As part of the “Fête de la Nature 2020”, the Nature Reserve of Saint-Martin, in partnership with EDF Archipel Guadeloupe, organized an event entitled: discover and act for the mangroves of Saint Martin.
The seven participants were able to familiarize themselves with mangroves: animal and plant species inhabiting them, functioning, ecosystem services provided; but also with the threats weighing on their future: natural and man-made pressures, as well as climate change.
The lively discussions made it possible to discuss the actions undertaken in Saint-Martin within the Nature Reserve, in particular thanks to the establishment of the nursery (project in partnership with the Rotary Club Saint-Martin Nord and the Fondation de France).
At the end of the presentations of the 4 stakeholders involved, some participants were able to move on to practice, within the collection of plants intended for restoration actions in the most impacted areas.
The Nature Reserve of Saint-Martin thanks the participants for their involvement and their good humor.
