Marine protected areas: brainstorming at the 3rd national conference

In Brest, the Marine Protected Areas Agency and the French Committee of the International Union for the Conservation of Nature organized the 3rd national symposium on marine protected areas from October 6 to 8. The Natural Reserve of Saint-Martin participated in this event.

Within the framework of this symposium, the workshops and round tables allowed the participants to tackle many subjects related to the five principles of the national strategy for the creation and management of marine protected areas: knowing, protecting, improving , integrate and cooperate. Regarding the recommendations relating to sustainable observations of the marine environment / marine mammals, there was talk of strengthening operator training (2016-2018). The team of the reserve also participated in parallel to the 2nd joint congress of the networks of conservatories of natural spaces and natural reserves of France. After Aix les Bains in 2011, it was Dunkirk which hosted this event from October 7 to 10.
