Rescue: DIAL, the GPS alert bracelet connected to sea rescue services

0

As the first link in the chain of sea rescue on our coasts and a reference in terms of prevention, the SNSM wanted to develop a device allowing those who practice nautical activities to alert the emergency services and to be located.

The alert and location bracelet is in the form of a waterproof GPS beacon connected to mobile networks. It is inserted in a bracelet designed by Philippe Starck, creator passionate about the sea and the nautical world.

Made of silicone and orange in color, comfortable and highly resistant, the ergonomics of this bracelet adapts to each wrist.

This bracelet allows its holder to be located during the practice of his nautical activity and to send an alert in the event of difficulty. Thanks to the multi-operator SIM card included in the beacon, DIAL operates autonomously (no need for a nearby telephone to transmit data). This SIM card works with an annual subscription of 29 € TTC for unlimited use (the first year of subscription is included in the purchase of the device).

The objectives of this alert and localization bracelet are multiple:

- Allow its owner to share with 3 trusted people, his position when practicing his nautical activity;

- Very easily transmit a geolocated alert to relatives and to sea rescue services, in the event of difficulty;

- Significantly reduce emergency response times.

- Reduce false alarms due to the concerns of loved ones.

This device can also be used by those who practice individual mountain hikes. Because no one is safe from an unforeseen accident!
