The French Red Cross invited the press last Thursday to the inauguration of the Samu social, on the floor of the Cadisco station, located route de la Baie Orientale. In the presence of many volunteers and the prefect Anne Laubies, the problems of the territory were raised by Ghislain Coëffard, regional director for the Antilles for the FIU, and Pascal Courbet, responsible for Saint-Martin for the FIU. The opportunity to present the two new salaried mediators - crisscrossing the areas of Marigot, Sandy Ground and Quartier d'Orléans - who go to meet the most disadvantaged. “We have neighborhoods in great difficulty. And the patrols are very important (…). To operate over time, you need mediators. We cannot work without them, we had to structure things, ”says the Prefect.
