Return of the sand mists

0

Air quality, measured by the Gwad'air association, could deteriorate in the Northern Islands due to the presence of sand mists polluting the atmosphere in Guadeloupe. The red alert was also triggered by the regional prefecture: yesterday, the level of fine particles PM10 was very high in the archipelago. This threshold corresponds to “a level of concentration of pollutants in the atmosphere beyond which a short-term exposure presents a risk for human health or environmental degradation justifying the intervention of emergency measures”. The latest surveillance bulletin mentions that this pollution is mainly linked to the passage of mists, but also to human activity.
