"Open Sports Day"

The Collectivity of Saint-Martin and its Youth and Sports department organize a large day of information on the sports activities offered on the territory. This year, the “Open Sports Day” will take place on Saturday September 17, 2016, at the Salle Omnisport François Matthew in Galisbay, from 9h to 14h.

The objective of this event is to raise awareness among the general public, and in particular young people, about the practice of a sport. Many sports associations will be present during this day, to inform families about the activities they offer: martial arts, athletics, basketball, beach tennis, capoeira, cricket, cycling, dance, football, gymnastics, motocross , swimming, windsurfing, rounders, rugby, surfing, taekwon do, tennis, archery, trail running, volleyball, windsurfing and many other disciplines. A big innovation this year: the “Beach” space created by the Collectivity next to the Omnisports hall will be open to the public. Sports demonstrations of beach tennis and beach volleyball are scheduled, as well as sports activities within the gymnasium. Parents and children are invited to bring a swimsuit to enjoy the aquatic activities that the Collectivity of Saint-Martin will offer during this completely free day of discovery. For example, the public can discover the giant paddle that can accommodate 8 people (see photo attached). The Youth and Sports Department of the Community awaits the large public, Saturday September 17, 2016 at the Omnisports hall in Galisbay, to participate in this great day of sports discovery! _AF
