The former term of office launched two projects in the Savane district, the construction of a college with a capacity of 900 students and that of an aquatic center. At the same time, it wanted to “create the infrastructures necessary for their good service and their operation”.
She thus reflected on "a global project to renovate, create networks and roads in order to promote soft modes and make traffic more fluid on the island's main road". The aim is to optimize traffic from the Agrément roundabout to the Hope Estate roundabout, in particular by promoting road sharing for all users and public transport.
Several development ideas were suggested: the repair of the RN 7 with a sidewalk, the creation of a roundabout in front of the fire station, the repair of the impasse Felix Choisy and its networks.
The creation of a new road system and networks from the impasse Felix Choisy to the RN7 passing in front of the aquatic center and the 900 college is also envisaged. It will include a two-way traffic lane, public lighting, a cycle path, a sidewalk and parking spaces.
The former mandate had estimated the budget for this project at 11 million euros.
All of these developments must be formalized in a traffic master plan between the Agrément and Hope Estate roundabouts. The Collectivity has just launched a public contract to select a project manager who will be in charge of drafting this document.
