With the operation of the Prodigies of the Republic, the government wishes to reward deserving French people who have distinguished themselves by their commitment to society.
Throughout the year, reservists, volunteers and citizens make a remarkable commitment to serve a cause or people. During confinement in particular, young people brought groceries to older people, people sewed masks for their neighbors, students opened a solidarity grocery store for their comrades, etc. They are the “miracles of the Republic”.
Thus, in Saint-Martin and Saint-Barthélemy, Prodigies under 30 (with some exceptions) will be rewarded and appointed by a jury, parity will be sought. Each territory will designate, moreover, one or a Prodigy who will be rewarded with a check for 500 euros, during a ceremony chaired by the Minister at the Ministry of the Interior, to be donated to the local association of his choice in order to create this virtuous circle of citizenship.
