Population census: The campaign will run from January 19 to February 25, 2017

The community of Saint-Martin informs the population of the launch, from Thursday, January 19, 2017, of the annual population census campaign. This campaign will take place over five weeks, until Saturday 25 February 2017. The census is organized by the National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE) in partnership with the communities.

If you are one of the households selected by INSEE, an information letter will be sent to you from 06 January to inform you of the passage of an agent from the Collectivity who will come to your home, between Thursday 19 January and Saturday February 25, 2017.

The 12 census enumerators of the territory have followed a prior technical training under the leadership of INSEE and Ms. Rosette PAROTTE, head of the Census & Addressing service of the Collectivity. They will be able to help you complete the questionnaires relating to your household and the people who live in your household.

The enumerators will be provided with an official card, and subject to strict professional secrecy.

The census is a strong act, because it makes it possible to determine the official population of each territory, whatever the origin and nationality of the people. The precise knowledge of our population makes it possible to adjust public action to the needs of the territory: collective facilities (schools, retirement homes, etc.), neighborhood renovation programs, means of transport, etc.

In addition, the census provides statistical information on the age pyramid, the composition of families and the housing stock. Only a part of the population is affected each year by the census, the areas listed being selected by INSEE.

Mandatory by law, the census is above all a civic and citizen act.

The president Aline HANSON invites you to reserve the best welcome to the census agent of the Collectivity who will come to your home.

For more information on the census, you can consult the website www.le-recensus-et-moi.fr, or contact the Census & Addressing service of the Collectivity (Madame Rosette PAROTTE) at 0590 52 27 30 - Pôle de Développement Sustainable - 6 Rue du Fort louis - Marigot.

The community of Saint-Martin thanks you for your participation in the census of the territory.
