A 68-year-old man was shot and killed at his home in Mont Vernon 2 on the night of Friday to last Saturday. The body was found around midnight by his wife who returned to her home.

“At around 22:30 p.m. last Friday, several criminals entered the resident's house. Traces of struggle between the victim and his attackers were observed on the spot, "specifies the Captain, Emmanuel Maignan. “Several shots were fired. A bullet hit the back of the sixty-something man and fatally injured him. It was his wife returning home around midnight who discovered the body of her husband in the bedroom. The gendarmes were contacted at 00:50 ”.

The victim's name is Jean-Louis Turquin. This sexagenarian was at the heart of a news item widely publicized in the 1990s.

“He had been condemned by the Nice Assize Court for the assassination of his 8-year-old son, Charles-Edouard, whom he allegedly committed in 1991 to take revenge on his wife who was seeking a divorce. The child's body was never found and Jean-Louis Turquin had always claimed his innocence. He had been granted parole in 2006 after ten years in prison.

On leaving the Casabianda detention center (Haute-Corse), the veterinarian said he wanted to devote his "new" life to looking for what had happened to his son, saying that he did not know "whether he is still alive or dead". He had moved to Saint-Martin in 2010, ”said AFP.

An autopsy of the body will be performed over the weekend to determine the exact causes of death. _AF
