USEP class project Emile Choisy: CM 2 students sensitized in the middle of sailing

0

After taking part in the virtual transatlantic race of the Islands of Guadeloupe, in November 2015, the CM2 class from the Emile choisy school, accompanied by their teacher, Fredérique Le Vot, participated in a sailing awareness campaign as part of the class project USEP sailing started since the last school year.

Last Wednesday, on the Marigot lake, two EPS teachers, Mr Pansiot Alain and Ms Masmejean Marie-Dominique allowed the students of the class to discover the different stages of navigation. Despite some misgivings at the start, all the students took great pleasure in reviewing the action.

“I remind you that the class achieved a very good performance in November by finishing 4th in the virtual transatlantic race in the Guadeloupe Islands and today the students were able to put into practice the theoretical work carried out in class with their teacher. This USEP-UNSS collaboration is a very good thing for our students in Saint-Martin because it contributes to the continuity and consistency of school learning. Knowing that at the start of the 2016 school year, CM2 and 6ème will be in the same cycle ”, specifies Jean-Luc Elice.

The education service wishes to offer in the future learning units in EPS in sailing and kayaking for all the schools of Saint-Martin. Because nautical activities are levers for fundamental learning. They allow students to give them meaning, because they mobilize emotions and fully involve children. These are fun activities that allow all students, whatever their level, to progress by integrating the notion of pleasure.

The education service and the USEP Iles du Nord would like to thank the accompanying parent Mr. Cudisio, Ms. Carel, the Director of the school Emile Choisy as well as Ms. Confiac Aline, principal of the College of Mont des accords. AF
