Last Thursday continued the trial of Patrick Balkany accused in particular of tax fraud, with the examination of the means by which the couple acquired the mill of Giverny and the villa Serena in Saint-Martin.

Here are the summary explanations of Patrick Balkany tweeted by journalists who attended the hearing.

Regarding the villa Serena acquired by an investment company in 1989 for 1,9 million francs and sold in 2002, he explained:

- “I bought the land for $ 250. The agency offered to buy some land, I bought the land. It was the jungle! Then a permit was filed for a 000 bedroom house. We made a 4 bedroom house. ”

- “When someone wanted to buy this villa Serena I sold it without regret. (…) It was really a rental house. Grapefruit was really our home. When I was no longer elected, we lived there. ”

- “We had settled in Saint-Martin. We didn't know if we were going to come back to the metropolis. But in an island as paradisiacal as it is, we end up going round and round. In 2000 I missed the city, I missed Levallois. ”

Finally, Patrick Balkany confided that he and his wife went to Saint-Martin during the summer. “There was a 6 hour lag. So for short vacations, that was too much. ” (more details on www.soualigapost.com)
