Forty clinically suggestive cases of dengue have been identified every week at the beginning of September, according to the latest Public Health France bulletin. The observed dynamic has been relatively stable since mid-July but remains at high levels.

Since the start of the epidemic (third week of January), nearly 2 clinically suggestive cases of dengue have been recorded.

The activity of emergency room visits for suspected dengue fever has been low since the start of the school year, with one visit followed by hospitalization during the last two weeks. In fact, between mid-May and the end of August, on average, three emergency visits were recorded each week.

Since the start of the epidemic, 117 emergency room visits for suspected dengue fever have been recorded, of which 29 (25%) were followed by hospitalization.

Finally, since the start of the epidemic, a serious case of dengue fever (DENV-1) has been notified in Saint-Martin in February by the intensive care unit of the Pointe-à-Pitre University Hospital. This person died, and clinicians assessed his death to be directly related to dengue.
