PPRN / Steven Patrick: "We will be fixed next March ..."

Following the blockage which severely affected Saint Martin in December last year, the State launched the LACROIX mission to propose a solution to the crisis caused by the application of the Natural Risk Prevention Plan (PPRN) in advance. Vice-President Steven PATRICK, in charge of the Living Environment delegation, traveled to Guadeloupe, on Monday, January 27, to meet with representatives of the Council for Architecture, Town Planning and the 'Environment of Guadeloupe (CAUE971) on the content of the recommendations proposed by the Lacroix mission.

Vice-President Steven Patrick wishes to recall that the Lacroix mission made "recommendations" and that these measures have yet to be validated by the departments that commissioned this mission. "This is an essential point, because many Saint-Martinois challenged me by telling me that the subject of PPRN was now classified ... In reality, it is not so, we will be fixed next March", clarifies the vice president.

In order to fully understand the scope and subtlety of the seven recommendations formulated by the Lacroix mission, Steven Patrick made a point of meeting the members of the Council for Architecture, Town Planning and the Environment of Guadeloupe (CAUE971). This professional body has been supporting Saint-Martin for several years and is able to shed light on the deciphering of the proposals made by the Lacroix mission.

EIn substance, it emerges that these recommendations are laudable and represent a listening effort on the part of the State, according to the vice-president. Nevertheless, it appears that not all of these measures are “feasible” as they stand because some of them require clarification and imply increased responsibility on the part of the Collectivité of Saint-Martin.

“In view of the information collected from the CAUE, I ask the Saint-Martinois to remain vigilant and to continue to follow attentively the evolution of this file on the revision of the PPRN in anticipation. This file is not yet closed and still requires our full vigilance, ”said Steven Patrick after his exchange with the CAUE.
