PPRN: public meetings on April 23 and May 10 to present the zoning and the new by-law

Yesterday morning, the first public meeting was held at the CCISM to present the new "marine submersion" component of the natural risk prevention plan (PPRN).

According to the law, the state services must organize three public meetings before taking the decree adopting the final document.

This morning, it was a question for the agents of the DEAL (direction of the environment and the development) to make a point on the progress of the revision of the PPRN. The second meeting is scheduled for April 23 and will focus on the presentation of maps and zoning. The last one is scheduled for May 10; the new zoning and the new regulations will then be presented. The times and place have not yet been communicated.

The invitation to today's meeting was published as a legal announcement at the end of March in accordance with the law, an announcement that went unread as less than ten people (excluding elected officials) attended. This has earned some criticism of the prefecture from a Saint-Martinois. “Why do you have meetings at 10 am when people are working? Better to do them later in the day, ”he asked. His remark was taken into consideration since the state services announced that for the next meetings, the dates will be posted on social networks and the schedules will be more appropriate.

On the other hand, they did not accept the proposal by an elected representative of the COM to hold meetings in the neighborhoods. Finally, the prefect indicated that informative sessions could be organized at the request of the public to re-explain the progress of the work of the PPRN.
