St. Maarten Heineken Regatta is a member of the Sailors for the Sea “Clean Regatta” program and strives to minimize its impact on the environment. "The island and its surrounding waters will benefit from several new measures put in place by the organizing authority," we can read on the regatta website, in collaboration with local environmental organizations in order to maximize efforts. “The most important step in keeping the environment clean is to ban styrofoam for all suppliers of official sites during the regatta.
