PORTRAIT: Association Cobra CED

COBRACED is a multi-faceted association. We met Peggy Oulrich, the brand new director to tell us about the association's project.

You may think that as a new director, she is not the best person to talk about the association. Think again ! She has just put on the management suit but she was previously project manager for the association. So COBRACED, who is it? What's this ? It is a structure that works in the social field, with young people. Many people know that taking care of a child involves understanding the whole universe of the child. It therefore seems logical not to stop at an activity but to gradually develop all the skills necessary to take care of the problems encountered by young people in Saint-Martin. This is what Audrey Claxton, the president of COBRACED, and Peggy Oulrich, its director, each did until the passage of Irma. The devastation, both material and logistical, prompted the structures to review their methods of action and operation. This is where Peggy Oulrich joined the COBRACED team. Together and under a common banner, the two women, accompanied by a solid team, are now active in the fields of education, animation, social mediation but also sport. Axes absolutely necessary for the global management of youth problems. But COBRACED is also action with families. It has been known for a long time, if the child's family environment does not follow, it is always more difficult to help him.

“I adhere to the association's philosophy. It is in an approach of accompaniment but not only of the public, also of the employees who for some benefited from an accompaniment. There is a real concern for the other. "

Peggy Oulrich took the time to explain the philosophy of the association, its areas of intervention and the projects in progress. We can tell you that it's heavy! The starting point is simple. According to the approach of the association transmitted to us by Peggy, "When a child is broken up, there must be comprehensive support with the family". To achieve this ambitious challenge, COBRACED is concentrating, for the moment, on two main projects. The first project concerns the historical action of the association, it is about "giving back the taste for learning". Children are welcomed for school support, artistic and cultural animation. And then there is the new project, the one that will be deployed from September. It is the Symbiose project which was in test until the end of July and which will be fully operational from the fall. Symbiose is a global approach. Support for young people but also for parents. And because you have to go to the end of the process, this system is supplemented by support for the whole family with parent / child workshops, for example. The Symbiose project is carried out thanks to the support of the Fondation de France and grants from the city policy which allow an ambitious approach for an association which is no less so. As confirmed by Peggy Oulrich, Audrey Claxton, the president, "gives herself the means" to go to the end of the story.  _NB
