SOS Children of the North Islands calls for donations

1

The association that takes care of the children of Sandy Ground has been waiting for almost six months to be able to charter thirteen pallets of donations intended for the population.

“Shortly after Irma, a man announced on Facebook that he had enough to finance the transport of a container from the metropolis to Saint-Martin. A woman named Aurore Blondel is then responsible for organizing an extraordinary collection in France of thirteen pallets with school supplies, a few tools ... The children of Doctor Pallas (deceased ophthalmologist) are added to it, who have set up a association "A roof and a bed for Saint-Martin, to send mattresses, among other things," explains Yva Osmond, president of SOS Children of the Northern Islands.

The container was to leave in early December. But since then, the man who had promised to send him away for free has disappeared. Result: “the association has to pay 2867 euros to bring it in, but our accounts are zero. And meanwhile Aurore has to move but can't because she has all the pallets at home. Laments Yva Osmond. Not used to "asking for alms", she clarified that she can issue a tax receipt and that donations are tax exempt at 80% up to 530 euros.
