Wearing a mask compulsory in elementary schools: the collective of parents of students from St-Martin always on the front lines!

0

They won't let go! Firmly opposed to wearing the compulsory mask in classes from CP to CM2, many parents mobilized again last Friday in front of the premises of the National Education services at the West Indies Mall to express their dissatisfaction with this measure deemed inappropriate in the West Indies.

  Jean-Baptiste Monin

“This morning (editor's note: last Friday), we are continuing our action in front of the premises of the National Education services in the West Indies to ask for freedom of choice as to the wearing of masks for students from CP to CM2. We must be received by the vice-rector, Michel Sanz. We hope that our grievances will be heard. While waiting to win their case, we hope it would be good for the students to set up more time slots to allow them to breathe better in the open air. One thing is certain, we will not let go. Even if it means carrying out other actions in the days to come to obtain satisfaction ”.

Amandine Fanton

“Like the other parents of the Saint-Martin and Saint-Barth collective, I am demonstrating the freedom of choice to wear a mask at school for children aged 6 to 11. In view of the current health situation in the territory, there are no valid reasons for using children as a link in the fight against the epidemic ”.

Tania Topol

“Although I have no children yet, I want to be in solidarity with this completely justified movement. Everyone must mobilize to obtain concrete answers from the authorities. It is not normal to force the wearing of masks on such young children. Let them breathe! "

Melody Benhamou

“We are here today to demand the choice of whether or not to wear the mask for students in elementary schools. The new decree obliges our children to wear the mask all day in class. It is simply mind blowing. The ambient heat associated with wearing a mask affects the health of our children. Children suffocate! And the idea that my son is suffocating at school makes me totally pissed off ”.

Interview by AF

We will come back to Friday's meeting between the Parents de Saint-Martin et Saint-Barth collective and the vice-rector, Michel Sanz in our edition of tomorrow. Unless changed at the last minute, wearing a mask in elementary school remains compulsory to this day.
