Show-Johanna-Flyer-A6There is no shortage of qualifiers to describe Johanna, who notably took part in the tours of Johnny Hallyday and Mylène Farmer as a chorister. Friday, the singer will make you discover her universe mixing Soul music, Blues, Rythm'n Blues and R'n'B under the marquee of the Princess Casino in Marina, at 20:30 p.m.

• Why did you choose Saint-Martin to perform?

I come to see my sister Joanita and her family living in Saint-Martin for some time. We decided to organize a show during my stay, the first on the island. It is always an exciting challenge to hope to reach a new audience.

• What songs will the spectators be able to experience on stage?

I prefer to surprise you, but I can tell you that we have planned a great retrospective of the greatest standards of international varieties in Soul, Blues and Rythm'n Blues, as well as some songs from my first album released in 2011: "Hymn to the Life ”, available for download. It was born from the meeting with a talented songwriter and pianist of Parisian jazz, Jean-Pierre Mas.

• How do you get inspired to compose your songs?

Life, love and bringing together men and women from different cultures are my main sources of inspiration.

• What were the best moments in your career?

I have always loved the stage, making it my job was obvious. I started my career in 1996 in the main cabarets in Paris such as "Les Trois Mailletz" and "La Périgourdine". This is where I really learned the profession of the stage.

My meetings in 1998 with Johnny Hallyday and Mylène Farmer are obviously essential moments. The road traveled alongside them in the studios and on the most beautiful international stages is part of my unforgettable experiences. My favorite thing is to have had the chance to play the role of Joséphine Baker in 2003, in the musical "Simenon et Joséphine" by Jean-Louis Grinda at the Opéra de Wallonie. I have studied her character a lot and found myself in her through certain aspects of her actions and character. It was disturbing. This remarkable woman moved me immensely. She was a great lady, a fabulous artist and very avant-garde for her time.

• What are your projects ?

I am in the process of finalizing the titles of my second album and wish to have the opportunity to return to present it soon in Saint-Martin. Various concert projects in France and abroad are also underway. In parallel with my solo career, I have recently organized workshops on “singing on stage” on the principle of the Master Class in order to be able to transmit my passion and my experience for singing and dancing on stage.
