POLICY / Declaration of interests: what remuneration did the president and VPs indicate that they received?

As the law relating to the transparency of public life requires on October 11, 2013, the elected officials of Saint-Martin had to file with the High Authority for the transparency of public life a declaration of interests which includes in particular remuneration from professional activities on the date of the election and the remuneration received during the five years preceding their election in March 2017.

Eighteen of these statements have recently been posted online, including those of the President and three of the four Vice-Presidents.

• Daniel Gibbs

He did not indicate any remuneration from a professional activity at the time of the election or during the previous five years but specifies that he received 80 euros net in 000 as manager of a real estate company, a function that he insured between January 2014 and October 2011. As a member of the board of directors of Semsamar, he also received 2014 euros in 1 and 200 euros net in 2013 (attendance fees).

In addition, he earned 93 euros net between April 664 and March 2012 as a regional adviser and 2017 euros net between July 330 and June 517 as a member of parliament.

• Valerie Damaseau

The first vice-president declared that she was an employee of an SAS and that she received 4 euros net in 665 and 2017 euros net the previous year.

• Yawo Nyuiadzi

The second vice-president indicates that he was a chartered accountant between October 2013 and March 2017 and that he received 315 euros gross during the period indicated.

• Steven patrick

The fourth vice-president indicates a single salary, that received in 2017 as an employee of an airline based in Dutch situation, that is to say 65 euros gross.
