Non cumulation of mandates: what the law provides for Daniel Gibbs and Guillaume Arnell


According to the law of February 14, 2014 prohibiting the cumulation of mandates, seven members of the next territorial council of Saint-Martin cannot cumulate their new functions with those of deputy or senator. The president, the four vice-presidents and the two territorial councilors who will sit on the executive council will be concerned.

However, if Daniel Gibbs is elected president of the Territorial Council of Saint-Martin next March, he will be able to keep his post as deputy until his renewal in June and combine the two functions during these three months. For his part, if Guillaume Arnell is on a list in local elections and obtains a new presidency of the COM (he does not wish to run for president), he will be able to keep these two mandates until October 1, 2017.
