To excel in English requires a mastery of this language orally but also in writing… The Léon NOEL prize was used as a lever to encourage a specific writing in English, that of the poetic text!

Léon NOEL traveled throughout the 2020-2021 school year our schools and schools in order to share his passion: poetry. His collection "Rhythm N Sparks" has been the subject of various studies encouraging students to familiarize themselves with the poetry they love yet singing all the popular songs of their favorite stars. And is it not that they were given the opportunity to become poets the space of a competition and who knows, the space of a lifetime ...

Léon NOEL can easily be described as a committed poet and for good reason, he is a faithful defender of the flora and fauna of his territory, Saint-Martin. Printing on paper the divine beauty of the elements that make up the flora and fauna, it delicately invites you to take a look at an environment that is often unnoticed although very present and subtly mobilizes to become aware of it in order to be protective of it. The succession of our poet is well and truly on the way to being assured and this is what the many participants in the poetry competition organized by the National Education service of the Northern Islands have shown us. The aforementioned competition had taken place in the rules, from copies whose anonymity had been guaranteed beforehand and the results were going to exceed all expectations by counting two prizes ex-æquo for the second place and a special prize, blow of heart, of the jury.  Mesdames Charlisia BARAY (English teacher), Vernicia BROOKS (member of CESC), Yannick DELANNAY (school principal), Katiuscia HYMAN (language facilitator in bilingual 1st degree classes), Laïsha RAMKARRAN (intern at the office of tourism of Saint-Martin) and Messrs Thierry FAUCHER (professor of mathematics), Alex RICHARDS (director of the cultural action of the COM of Saint-Martin) had to underline the level of language and the imagination of the contestants. Many discussions were right for a ranking over which only the jury had and will have sovereignty: Elisabeth PAKA (1st prize), Maya FRISAT, Noah PAKIRY (2nd prize), Titianna CHARVILLE (3rd prize) and Fridlande ALEXANDRE (special jury prize ). Messrs Jeremy HUOT, Pascal DIJON, Anthony GOMBIS, Rony MERI (tourism teachers) and Madame Ange-Marie VENTHOU-DUMAINE, professor-librarian had to be proud of the prowess of 4th and 3rd year students of Mont des Accords colleges and Soualiga that they had to supervise.
