0

Recently, the National Technical Advisor of the French Football Federation, Overseas Coordinator, Nicolas Bourdin made the trip to Saint-Martin in a mission to support the development of Saint-Martin football.

fax info : "What is the purpose of your visit to Saint-Martin"?

Nicolas Bourdin: “This is my third trip to Saint-Martin since I took office in 2018. With the president of the Saint-Martin Football League, Aristide Conner and the technical advisor, Gilles Petit, we are working on all development projects football in Saint-Martin. This concerns all the young (boys and girls) and senior categories in the various practices which are obviously football but also futsal and beach. We also discussed the training of educators. Several training modules will be implemented during this current season.

We also talked about the detection operations that will be organized among young people with training centers and in sports sections ”.

FI: “What is your view on Saint-Martin football”?

NB: “During my 1st  visit to Saint-Martin two years ago, we have endeavored to restore some life on the grounds after the passage of cyclone Irma. It was an important first step for us. Since that time, a lot of things have changed and a lot of actions have been taken. From now on, we will focus on training educators. The latter must raise their level of skills to better supervise young people. At the level of the DTN (National Technical Directorate), we recommend 1 team - 1 trained educator. Each educator present on the edge of the field or who supervises training sessions each week must be trained. There are training modules by type of audience which lasts 16 hours ”.

FI: “Are you satisfied with the existing sports infrastructure? "

NB: “I think we need to have a little more patience. The latest news is that the Thelbert Carti stadium in Quartier d'Orléans is almost ready to host football matches. The same goes for the Jean-Louis Vanterpool stadium in Marigot which should also be equipped with a synthetic lawn in the coming months.

It is obvious that a good pitch facilitates the practice of a good game and the progression of young players. This is not all either. Good players are trained above all by good educators ”.
