The prize giving of the ephemeral photography contest "Faces of St Martin" was held on Wednesday evening in the gardens of the Collectivity, the light rain did not taint the joy of the winners.

The theme of this fifth edition carried by the Department of Cultural Action of the Community with the support of the Department of Cultural Affairs of Guadeloupe (DAC) was "Man and Nature". The candidates were selected on the basis of the ten photographs by the selection committee and their works are now displayed in strategic places in Saint Martin, with a clear focus on Marigot. Directly inspired by the "Inside out" project by the French artist JR, the exhibition is not fixed and will evolve over time according to the weather since the posters will peel off and tear until they disappear, the dissolution also being part of of the artistic approach of this Street art project. President Daniel Gibbs, 1st Vice-President Valérie Damaseau, Territorial Councilor in charge of Culture Yolande Sylvestre and Territorial Councilor Alain Gros-Désormeaux were present at the event. However, in the context of an electoral reserve, the speech and the award ceremony were carried out by the director of the DAC, Alex Richards, with the support of Carole Tondu from the Culture department, which initiated the project. This year, the prize list is entirely female. Among the winners, Lauralie Peterson, a regular at the competition, again won first prize. In second position is Adeline Marel and the third prize was awarded to Karine Bouvart who signs her first participation in the competition. The Special Jury Prize, set up two years ago, was awarded to Agnès Etchegoyen who chose to stage her models in water, playing on the differences in rendering. The photography that allowed him to win the special jury prize is absolutely beautiful. _VX
