Until July 26, 2024, the opening date of the Games of the XXXIII Olympiad of the modern era, the organizing committee unveiled this Monday, October 21, its new logo. A common emblem for the Olympic and Paralympic Games scheduled in the capital.
It is one more step towards the long awaited great moment. And not just any. The Paris 2024 organizing committee unveiled last Monday the new logo that will accompany the 33rd edition of the Olympic Games. The ceremony took place at the Grand Rex, a famous cinema located on the main boulevards of the capital. Symbolically, the logo was presented at exactly 20:24 p.m.
Round in shape and gold in color, it consists of three symbols: the gold medal, the Olympic flame and Marianne. Without reference to the Eiffel Tower. The emblem, with "its sober and pure line", finds its inspiration "in Art Deco, the first total artistic movement, which reached its peak during the Paris Games of 1924," said a press release.
It replaces the one used since February 2016 with an Eiffel Tower of colors formed by the number 24. Before the ceremony, hundreds of runners, led by Olympic and Paralympic medalists, surveyed Paris and Seine-Saint-Denis to design this new logo. A logo that will be used for the first time in Olympic history for both the Olympic and Paralympic Games. _AF
