Opening of the "Festival of Languages ​​and Cultures" 2022

Organized by National Education in Saint-Barthélemy and Saint-Martin, the "Festival of Languages ​​and Cultures" will allow students from different schools in the Northern Islands to discover the wealth of activities offered in the field of learning languages. Making multilingualism an asset is not just a slogan, it is a reality that the youth of Saint-Martin will be able to measure throughout the week of April 4 to 8.

As part of the 2022 "Festival of Languages ​​and Cultures", Marie Amélie Leydet elementary school in Concordia and Aline Hanson elementary school in Sandy-Ground honored these two illustrious women whose name the school bears. . 

The students with their teachers worked on their biography, in French and in English, and prepared a text which will be printed on a plaque and installed very soon in each of these two schools.

This tribute was an opportunity for students to read aloud, sing, dance and show the extent of their linguistic and artistic talent. Bravo and thank you to them!

The “Languages ​​and Cultures” festival continued yesterday morning with the honoring of Jérôme Beaupère at the eponymous kindergarten in Sandy-Ground through a biography and songs in four languages. The public was invited to attend a co-intervention session of the bilingual SG class in the area of ​​“Exploring the world”. 

For its part, the Hervé Williams elementary school honored several countries with pupils and parents from Italy, India, Spain and even Holland. Texts, vocabulary and songs in all languages ​​punctuated this day placed under the sign of openness to the world! A big congratulations to all the students and the educational team. _AF
