Operation "A mask for all": Hats off to the 52 seamstresses mobilized to make 40000 fabric masks

To continue deconfinement in the best health conditions, the Prefecture, Initiative Saint Martin Active and the Collectivity of Saint-Martin have carried out the project of creating solidarity masks. This action was made possible thanks to the support of the Fondation de France. The objective is to make a washable, reusable 3-ply fabric mask that meets AFNOR standards for each resident of Saint-Martin.

Following the call for volunteers launched by the Prefecture, Initiative Saint-Martin Active and the Collectivity of Saint-Martin on April 18, 2020, 52 fairy-finger seamstresses joined the project. The CAF of Saint-Martin has provided 2 sewing machines. The teams from Home Couture to Hope Estate carried out the cutting of the fabrics and Initiative Saint-Martin Activates the delivery of the material to the volunteers. Today, more than 34 masks are already available.

The Prefecture, Initiative Saint-Martin Active and the Collectivity of Saint-Martin take this opportunity to warmly thank all those who are committed to this project for the well-being and health of all.
